Thymus skopjensis is a local Macedonian endemic, discovered in the gorge of the Treska River. This species can only be found here and nowhere else in the world. Like all other species of the genus Thymus, this plant is characterized by a wide range of medicinal properties, but because it grows in a small area, its use is not recommended. Overharvesting can lead to its extinction.
