This plant is from Madagascar and is called the “pencil tree.” It’s a bush with lots of branches, and its branches are thick and succulent. Short leaves grow on these branches. After they’ve grown as much as they can, the leaves fall off. Little yellow flowers form at the ends of the branches. This plant produces a milk-like juice (latex) that is highly poisonous and can cause loss of sight. It can reach a maximum height of 7 meters.
