Rosemary is a highly branched, evergreen shrub characterized by a high percentage of aromatic properties. It grows naturally in Southern Europe, the western coast of Asia Minor, and North Africa. Because of its aromatic properties, rosemary is widely cultivated and used commercially in many parts of the world. The leaves of the plant are used for this purpose, with the most important use being the pure essential oil.
