Chokeberry is a perennial deciduous shrub that grows naturally in the eastern part of North America. Older specimens of this species can even form a low tree shape, but the average height is between 2.5 and 3 meters. The fruit of the chokeberry is used for food and medicinal purposes. The name “chokeberry” comes from the Greek word aros, which means “help” or “benefit”.
