Galium rhodopaeum is a Macedonian endemic plant listed as an endangered species on the Preliminary Red List of the Republic of North Macedonia. It is known only from Kozjak (Skopje), Krivolak, and Bogoslovec (steppelike area). It primarily grows on dry limestone rocky slopes and, less frequently, can be found in clearings of forests of Quercus pubesecens and Carpinus orientalis.
