Viola arsenica is a Macedonian endemic that grows only in the village of Majdan, near the Alshar mine. This plant exclusively develops on a substrate of antimony and arsenic, from which it got the epithet “arsenica”. It prefers deep soils, which further limits its spread. It produces intense yellow flowers.
