Marigold is an annual or sometimes biennial plant with a short, branched stem that typically grows to a height of 30 to 50 cm. It is one of the most commonly cultivated plants in gardens and can also be found growing wild along roadsides and fences. It is believed to be a Mediterranean species that has spread throughout Europe as a result of intensive cultivation.
