Dracunculus vulgaris, also known as the “Dragon Flower,” is a somewhat strange and bizarre plant from the Araceae family, endemic to the Balkans. It grows naturally in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean Islands and parts of Turkey. A distinctive feature of this plant is its spectacular dark purple flower with a particularly intense, unpleasant odor resembling rotting flesh, which attracts certain pollinators.
