The dawn redwood is a relic plant with a very limited distribution. This plant is considered a living fossil. In 1941, in Japan it is found as a fossil, but in the same year, in the middle parts of China near the river Yangtze, were found populations of this plant. This plant is different among the others “gymnosperm”* whose leaves are pellenial. This plant changes it’s leaves every year.
