The flowers are light purple or white with an intense, pleasant fragrance, arranged in clusters at the tips of the branches. It develops naturally in the area of the entire Mediterranean and along the eastern coast of the Indian Ocean. It is cultivated as an ornamental and honey-producing plant. It blooms from June to September.
